Another birthday has come and gone for me and I am now 45 years yould! According to the Weidenhamster's Dictionary 2011, the definition of "yould" is combining young and old, meaning staying young while getting old. I refuse to think of myself as getting older, it is just our children that seem to be growing up so fast, not me! Plus, I really think alot depends on how we look at ourselves. My grandma was 99 when she died, but she always seemed 20 years younger than her age. She refused to act her age! So, I am determined to follow in her footsteps and refuse to get "old"!
My family knows how I treasure times when I do not have to prepare a meal and clean it up, so this year I was pampered. Ben treated me to supper at the Texas Road House on Thurs. evening. My supper consisted of "Road Kill" with salad and rice. I thoroughly enjoyed spending one on one time with Ben and I loved the meal, too. My sister prepared lunch for our family on Sunday....let's see....should I continue to share the menus? Ok, we had chicken breast, mashed potatoes, corn, red beets, salad, pickles, cake, ice-cream and jello. Hungry yet? I'll have to give you her phone # so you can invite yourself for your birthday. It was great!
To top off my day, Kelsey made supper and they came down to eat it with us after chore time. And we had....burrito casserole with salad, frozen pineapple dessert and my favorite...lemon meringue pie! Everything was so delicious, so proud of her! I can also pass along her phone # to you, too, if you are interested! I cherish when we are able to be together as a family...
and of course being with Ms. Oakley...
Uriah gave me the sweetest little note, a coupon for a free 10 min. shoulder rub (from him), and $1.00.
Oliver gave me some art work and $1.00...
Dave & I are planning on going to Hoss' again to celebrate both of our birthdays (his is the 10th) and I will have to let you know what we had to eat later! I know for sure they would be delighted to serve you a meal for your birthday! With other moneys I received for gifts, I bought fishing rods!!! Very much looking forward to going fishing........
I had a wonderful birthday and must admit...I love being 45 years yould!!
Until next time...........
